Our Philosophy

From Our Fields
to Your Altar

Every wedding we work on begins with a conversation, not a catalogue. We want to understand your story as a couple, the atmosphere you hope to create, and the small details that matter most to you. There is no template and no formula. Your wedding flowers should feel as unique as your relationship, and that is what we set out to achieve with each commission.

Because we grow the majority of our flowers right here on our farm in Loughrea, County Galway, we can offer something that imported flower suppliers simply cannot: a direct connection between the soil and your celebration. Many of our couples visit the farm during the planning process to walk through the beds, smell the blooms, and choose colours and textures that speak to them in person. This hands-on experience often sparks ideas that no mood board could replicate.

For blooms that fall outside our growing season or colour palette, we partner with a small network of trusted Irish growers and sustainable suppliers. We never use floral foam, opting instead for chicken wire mechanics and compostable materials that leave no trace. Your flowers will be beautiful on the day and gentle on the planet long after the celebration ends.

The Journey

How We Work Together

From first enquiry to your wedding day, here is what you can expect when you choose Balenqui for your wedding flowers. We keep the process relaxed, personal, and creative.

1

Initial Enquiry & Chat

Start by reaching out through our contact form, by email, or by phone. Share your wedding date, venue, and any early ideas you have about colours or style. We respond within 48 hours with availability confirmation and a few initial thoughts. This first conversation is always free, with absolutely no obligation.

12–18 months before your wedding
2

Farm Visit & Consultation

We invite you to visit the farm for a guided walk through the growing beds. Depending on the time of year, you might see dahlias in full colour, sweet peas climbing their supports, or early spring bulbs just emerging. Over tea, we discuss your mood, your venue, and the feeling you want your flowers to create. We find that seeing and touching real blooms sparks more inspiration than any Pinterest board. This consultation is complimentary.

9–12 months before your wedding
3

Proposal & Planning

Based on our conversation and your vision, we put together a detailed proposal that outlines every floral element, from your bouquet down to the last bud vase. The proposal includes descriptions, estimated bloom types, and transparent pricing. We refine this together until you are completely happy, and then secure your date with a deposit. Any adjustments are welcome right up until six weeks before the day.

4

Growing & Sourcing

In the months leading up to your wedding, we monitor our growing beds carefully and plan our cutting schedule around your date. If your wedding calls for blooms outside our seasonal range, we coordinate with our network of Irish growers to source supplementary stems. We keep you updated with photographs from the farm so you can watch your flowers come to life.

Your Wedding Day

Flowers are cut at dawn on the morning of your wedding (or the evening before for certain varieties). Our team delivers and installs every arrangement at your venue, coordinating with the wedding planner or venue manager to ensure everything is perfectly placed before your guests arrive. Personal flowers are delivered to wherever the wedding party is getting ready. You focus on the joy; we handle every petal.

Happy Couples

Words from Our Brides

"Siobhán and her team created the most extraordinary flower arch for our ceremony at Ashford Castle. Walking underneath it felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The scent was heavenly and the colours were exactly the soft, romantic palette we had dreamed about. Our photographer said it was the most beautiful arch she had ever seen at a wedding in Ireland."

"We had a winter wedding and I was worried seasonal flowers would feel limited. Balenqui proved me completely wrong. The arrangements featured the most gorgeous hellebores, anemones, and winter berries along with beautiful evergreen foliage. The centrepieces with candles made the ballroom feel like a winter garden. Every guest commented on how special the flowers were."

"What set Balenqui apart was the personal touch. Visiting the farm and actually picking flowers with Siobhán felt like part of the wedding experience itself. My bouquet included sweet peas that I had watched growing three months earlier. There is something incredibly special about carrying flowers you have a personal connection with on your wedding day."

"We eloped to the Burren with just 12 guests and Balenqui made the flowers feel as thoughtful and intentional as if it were a 200-person wedding. My bridal posy was the most beautiful thing I have ever held. Small and perfectly formed with ranunculus and trailing jasmine. They also made the tiniest corsages for our mothers that were absolutely exquisite."
